How a cleanroom works
A cleanroom is a confined area that aims to create an extremely clean environment for sensitive processes or products.
The air in the cleanroom is purified by high-performance filters to remove particles and microorganisms while maintaining a constant positive pressure to prevent outside intrusion.
To prevent contaminants from entering the room, people entering the clean room must pass through an airlock. There they put on overalls, hairnets and shoe covers. In addition, strict work procedures must be adhered to so that no contamination can arise from their work.
To maintain the cleanliness of the space, surfaces are regularly cleaned, filters are replaced and air quality is monitored.
