About Us

Founded in Sonneberg, Germany, in 2005, Obeck Verpackungen GmbH is a family-run company specializing in the manufacture and supply of standard PET packaging and closures in various shapes and colors.

The founders, Andreas and Reinhard Obeck, have decades of experience in the production and marketing of PET packaging, as well as in the design and construction of special tools and production systems.

With our headquarters in the heart of Germany and an additional production site in Belgium, we are able to sell our products across Europe and beyond.

The energy that still comes from the Obeck family – Reinhard, Andreas, Madeleine and Renate – ensures that the standards on which the company was built are actively lived by throughout the entire workforce.

History of Obeck

OBECK is founded by Andreas Obeck and his father Reinhard in Sonneberg, southern Thuringia. They can both look back on decades of experience in the production and distribution of PET packaging.

2005

OBECK's first machine delivery in Föritztal.

The company’s own tool shop is opened, which enables the design, construction of new tools and their repair.

2007

The company opens its newly built headquarters in the Sonneberg-Föritz industrial area. There are office buildings, a production facility and a storage area of 3000m², which are still our home today.

2010

In order to meet increasing demand and growth, the company expands to include a second production area with an area of 6000m².

2014

The largest warehouse with an additional 5100m² of space is put into operation. This area is connected to the other warehouses via an automatic transport bridge. The total area of the clean and well-organized warehouse at the time is 10,000m².

2016

The facility is expanded by an additional 3100m² for production and technical infrastructure.

2018

OBECK focuses on sustainability and installs a photovoltaic system with a total output of around 1 megawatt on the roofs of the building complex.

2019

An expansion to include a new, spacious canteen with a terrace now offers employees the opportunity to relax and exchange ideas in a beautiful atmosphere during breaks.
